Boris Acket (born 1988) is a contemporary artist and composer working with sound, light, and motion, exploring the interplay between control and surrender in the (natural) world. Initially rooted in electronic music and club culture, Acket's practice has evolved to challenge the boundaries between sound art, music, and performance spaces, often blurring the lines between exhibitions and club experiences.

A significant turning point in his artistic development came in 2020 when he encountered acoustic ecologist Gordon Hempton and sociologist Riyan van den Born, who inspired Acket to incorporate natural phenomena into his work. Today, his pieces offer sanctuary and ritualistic encounters while also suggesting dystopian narratives about our future interactions with the (natural) world. Acket has presented his works and performances on renowned international stages, including Mutek MX, Milan Salone del Mobil, Paris Fashion Week, Dark Matter Berlin, Lost Art Festival Berlin, Stedelijk Museum, NXT Museum, Lowlands, STRP, Holland Festival, Het Hem, Fiber Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event, De School, and many others. He is also one half of Working Titles, whose 2019 album De Tuin is a collection of meditative, improvised sonic vignettes. In 2021, he released his debut album Home (featuring a visual artist). Acket is also part of the Dutch artist collective De Lichting.

In his latest exhibition, The Dark Rooms Vertical (April 26, 2024 - May 10, 2024, secret location), Acket brings nature to life in the darkness. In an old tower, enormous storms and raging seas are brought to life through interactive installations. Using 49 servomotors moving through space, the sound of the wind is made audible while natural phenomena are visually simulated. These installations, created in collaboration with 12 international artists, form a constantly changing weather system that interacts with one another. The artist reveals the ambivalent relationship we have with nature—desire, fascination, power, and also helplessness. The Dark Rooms Vertical is a journey through nature, with works that have emerged in various cities around the world, now being presented for the first time all in one place in Berlin.
